NARSC INITIATED PROJECT
BACKGROUND
The success of the NARSC initiated Paired Reading Project has provided a fund for members of the Northern Alberta Reading Specialist Council (NARSC) to access monies to pursue research or projects related to reading development. Examples include but are not restricted to topics such as oral language development, written expression, visual literacy or technology. For the current school year, the amount of $1000.00 is available for this purpose. A set of criteria has been compiled by the Paired Reading Committee to assist in the awarding of these funds.
CRITERIA
- Individuals or groups may apply for funds.
- An individual must be a current member or an associate member of NARSC. In the case of a group application, the individual who leads the research or project must be a current member or an associate member of NARSC.
- Topics connected to reading development must be the thrust of the research or project. Proposals may be national or international in nature, but first priority will be awarded to research or projects occurring in Alberta.
- The proposal for funding should include:
- The objective(s) of the project
- methodology and timeline
- detailed budget plans
- a statement which clearly indicates the anticipated impact of the project as it relates to literacy development
